You have become more interested in the ingredients list on the food that you eat, but have you ever read the ingredients list on that moisituriser or shampoo that you have been using for years?
Have you ever stopped to think about how manufacturers achieve those delicious scents and vibrant colours, or even that ultra bubbly froth?
Chemicals
Sure, they may be great for effect, but if you wouldn't eat them, then why would you feed your skin with them? The presence of certain chemicals used in skin care, cosmetics and toiletries, have been linked with an increase in skin sensitivities, eczema, allergies and even cancer. That's why we don't use them.
You've heard of some of them - like 'Propylene Glycol' (used to bore down through layers of skin to let other ingredients through, but also used in 'anti-freeze'), 'SLS' (Sodium Lauryl Sulphates and the like, also found in engine degreasers and used to create 'foam' in products, but combined with other certain chemicals, can also create residual levels of carcinogens, leading to cancer in the heart, liver, lungs and brain) and even 'Parabens' (Methyl, Propyl, etc. – toxic synthetic preservatives, know to cause allergic reactions and skin sensitivities).
There is plenty of information floating around on these ingredients and more and we just don't want to re-hash it all. We would rather share positive information with you.
